ANNOUNCEMENT

Gore Mountain will again host Eastern New York’s Regional Alumni Ski Day on Wednesday, February 8, 2006.  Complimentary ski tickets will be provided by Gore, and a brunch and lunch will be hosted by the ENY Region.  For alumni applications or to reserve a spot for the Alumni Day, contact Dick Lynch at 518-371-4301 or rlynch01@nycap.rr.com, not later than February 1, 2006

Now that you’ve decided to retire from active patrolling………why not consider joining the National Ski Patrol Alumni?

The Alumni is composed of a special membership category for Patrollers or Auxiliaries with a minimum of one year’s service, who no longer wish to continue their Active Status with the National Ski Patrol System, but want to keep informed and also stay involved with their ski patrol brethren.

By joining, you can continue your association with the largest winter rescue organization in the world.  You will not be required to fulfill any refresher requirements, except to maintain instructor certifications, if you continue teaching.

Although you are no longer an Active Patroller or Auxiliary, you are encouraged to stay involved in any of the many opportunities available on a Patrol, Region or Division level.  Regardless of the scope of involvement, Alumni can contribute to the success of ski patrolling at any level.  Go to the Contacts List for the name of the  Regional Alumni Coordinator.

You will be able to take or instruct NSP Courses, be involved with courtesy/host patrols and Special Olympics, serve in administrative capacities, participate in Alumni Days, help to recruit candidates, and participate in other NSP sponsored activities.  You can also purchase Alumni identification and other catalog items from the NSP catalog.

To help keep you informed of activities, you will also receive Ski Patrol Magazine, NSP Catalogs, Eastern Division Trail Sweep, Regional newsletters, and Regional Alumni Coordinator letters.

For questions or to join, contact Dick Lynch.  The dues are a reasonable $27.00 per year or $200.00 for lifetime membership.  Lifetime Member Active Patrollers keep that status as Alumni Members.
